Why we’re building this

Building a NAS or home server means getting a lot of details right. BuildMyNode aims to make it easier to select parts, reuse hardware and avoid expensive mistakes. Beginners deserve understandable answers, and experienced builders should be able to inspect the evidence.

Evidence before conclusions

The compatibility engine will use documented rules and traceable manufacturer sources with versions and dates. Missing or conflicting information must result in “Not verified”. AI may explain the reasoning, but must never be the sole basis for a compatibility decision.

Free access, independent assessments

The platform is intended to be free, with no mandatory subscription or paywall. Clearly disclosed affiliate links, advertisements and partnerships may support it later. They must never determine compatibility or recommendations. This release contains no affiliate or advertising integrations.
